Chemonics seeks a Field Accounting Support Manager for the Finance and Accounting Division. Under the direction of the Team Leader for the Field Accounting Support Team (FAST), the manager establishes and maintains uniformity and accuracy in field accounting procedures and ensures that all field accounting practices adhere to donor and Chemonics regulations and policies. Advises field offices on financial compliance matters, analyzes local account submission, and helps projects devise approaches for asset and liability management; travels to field projects, installs accounting software and tracking mechanisms and trains appropriate field personnel in the use of these systems; and reviews and approves work product of team members. This position is also subject to special duties and assignments as designated by the supervisor. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.Responsibilities include: Work with field projects in optimizing financial and cash flow management Provide support and training to both field staff and home office staff on USAID/DCAA and Chemonics policies and procedures, emphasizing the importance and value of compliance Assist with audits conducted by Finance Compliance Review Unit and third-parties (SunTrust, DCAA, PriceWaterhouseCoopers) and provide required information related to projects within one s portfolio of projects Perform duties consistent with full understanding of Chemonics requirements, policies and procedures, tools, quality standards, and broader Chemonics internal and external client strategic goals Approach problem solving collectively with senior staff and internal and external clients to achieve a mutually beneficial result Demonstrate technical competence in planning and managing work products; provides input to procedures, processes, reports and other documents Review on a monthly basis expenses incurred by overseas project offices Complete monthly reconciliation of home office and field office project accounts, researches variances and recommends resolutions for un-reconciled amounts Reconcile field office trial balances and bank statement balances to home office trial balances on a monthly basis and is able to identify problems and recommend solutions Conduct start-up field assignments for training new field-based accountants in ABACUS, and provides training on USAID/DCAA and Chemonics policies, procedures and regulation Consistently produce work products in conformance with Chemonics and clients standards Undertakes assignment on projects or special initiatives as appropriate Liaise regularly with new business staff to understand and better respond to clients needs Develop field accounting training manuals and presents to both home office and local staff Assist in the development of innovative technology to create streamlined processes Attract, recruit, and recommend hiring of new staff that fit the profile of the Chemonics professional Participate in the development of the department s strategic plans, training materials and tools Effectively train and mentor staff on Chemonics tools and systems Supervise, develop, and evaluate assigned staff. Ensures that staff receives regular constructive performance feedback, prompt resolution of problems, and time and opportunity to grow professionally Define team roles and responsibilities clearly and concisely, promotes strategies for effective teamwork and leadership development, and cultivates collaborative working relationships across the company Develop tools, guidelines, and training materials consistent with corporate policies and best practices for new business efforts Manage relationships with external clients, vendors, partners, and consultants that serve to enhance Chemonics reputation Actively participate in new business activities, including proposal teams Perform other duties and responsibilities as requiredQualifications: Bachelor s degree in relevant field required Minimum 3 years experience with auditing and accounting required Minimum 3 years experience with USAID/government regulations, or CPA preferred Prior knowledge of accounting systems; Solomon, Deltek, or similar preferred Knowledge of company s main client and its operations preferred Ability to solve technical, managerial or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge Experience living or working in developing countries preferred Willingness to work overseas 20 percent and to consider long-term overseas assignments Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings Strong knowledge of MS Office applications Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail Supervisory experience preferred Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity Full professional working proficiency in French requiredApplication Instructions: Apply through our Career Center at by March 18, 2019.
